The Weekend Fix

'It might fool you into thinking this is a book about the outdoors – which it is, and a very good one. But beneath the descriptions of Craig Weldon’s innumerable days on the hill there is a human story: an understated, poignant coming-of-age tale.'
Carey Davis, Editor, The Great Outdoors

'Covers innumerable hill days.'
Hamish Brown, Author, Hamish's Mountain Walk

'Captures the sense of hillwalking and makes me want to get out there.'
Amazon review

'Well written and full of humour, best appreciated by those who share the author's love of hill walking, particularly those who understand the feeling of escape that comes from leaving it all behind - if only for a weekend 'fix'.'
Caroline Standring, John Muir Trust Journal

'A great read if you frequent the hills. Certainly gives you those 'itchy feet'.'

About the book

Craig Weldon came of age on hills all around the British Isles, especially the Munros in Scotland. With his friends he braved the high peaks and ridges of the Cuillin and the lower tops of Gloucestershire, wild Welsh farmers and even wilder Highland midges. Sometimes hilarious, occasionally dangerous, more often wet, one thing was for certain: tackling the hills was never boring!
